Regularly inspect cord covers, puzzle toys, hanging mobiles, food items, wood products, mangers, habitats, and enrichment items for signs of wear, heavy chewing, loose pieces, sharp edges, fraying, exposed wires, or structural changes. Addressing small concerns early helps maintain a safe environment for your pets.

Cord Covers & Electrical Safety

Cord covers are designed as a deterrent, not a guarantee. Some pets may continue chewing through protective coverings.

Inspect cords and covers regularly for:

• Chew marks
• Thinning or punctures
• Exposed wires
• Loose coverings

If damage or exposed wiring is found, discontinue use and replace or relocate the cord immediately.

Wood Products & Chews

Chewing is a natural and healthy behavior for small pets. Over time, wood items may show wear. 

Because chewing habits vary, pets that chew aggressively may wear down natural wood toys more quickly.

Inspect wooden products periodically for:

• Splintering
• Sharp edges
• Heavy chewing damage
• Exposed internal hardware

Light sanding of rough areas or replacing heavily worn items can help maintain a safe play environment.

Habitats & Enrichment Items

As pets grow or change in weight, confirm that openings, tunnels, windows, and access points remain appropriately sized and comfortable.

Regularly check that:

• Tunnels and windows remain safe for your pet’s size
• Platforms and ramps remain stable
• All components remain securely assembled

Supervised Play

Supervision during floor time and when introducing new toys helps reduce the risk of accidents. Monitoring play allows you to step in quickly if needed and helps ensure enrichment activities remain safe.
